San Antonio rodeo trail riders ~ I know you were wondering!
The state of Texas has been getting a soaking this week. Nature has given us very long drink of cold water along with lots of mist and murkiness. I have mostly stayed home all toasty and warm throughout our mini monsoon but I have been thinking about all the trail riders braving the weather on their long journey on horseback for the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo. I have been wondering how many trail rides there are and where they all originate. It looks like a lot of fun but I don't know if I could do it. Maybe I could do the one coming from Kerrville or Bandera. Mostly, I enjoy see the photos and seeing them on the local news.
I did a little research and found there are 11 trail rides arriving from many areas of Texas. Doesn't this look like fun! In case you were wondering too, here they are:

I hope to be able to go next year. We had let Shamie (horse in my photo) go to heaven earlier this year.
Many folks I know came home a bit early from the ride due to the rain.
Do they ever not trail ride? It seems like they ALWAYS are. I remember last year that a "trail rider" was cited for his pooping horse! Talk about horseS!
Shirley - Sounds like great fun!
Shirley I saw them on the news last evening and they looked mighty cold and wet, The trail ride is "tradition" rain or shine.
Howdy and Evenen there Shirley
I sure do miss haven trail riders to go on. I sure did always enjoy go-en, no matter what the weather.
I did the South Texas trail ride many decades ago. I met millions of relatives who lived in Floresville and we took off for San Antonio. Not really sure that I ever want to do that again, though. Cars and Beatles on the CD player with the air conditioning going are pretty nice.
Shirley - I've always had a romanticized view of what it must be like to take part in a trail ride. I'd gladly sign on as cook, to any group that would have me:-)
Hi Shirley - I think this would be so much fun! However, I would have to be sure it was NOT going to rain before i signed up!
Debi
Hey Shirley
As much as I love the outdoors I have never done a ride. It loos like a blast. I just need to get a horse!
Hi Melissa, The ones who didn't come home got soaked.
Hi Greg, I remember them from when I lived in Houston, too.
Hi Sharon, I agree!
Hi C&C, The looked cold and are probably glad to get here, finally.
Hi Dale, Being the kind of western type guy you seem to be, I'll bet you enjoyed trail rides!
Haha Russel, I try to stay as comfortable as possible at all times...
Hi Myrl, It does seem romantic. I think I would have enjoyed it when I was younger.
Hi Debi, I don't like being out in the cold!
Hi Trey, A horse would be important for a trail ride!
