Hill County Living in Helotes ~ Iron Horse Canyon

Iron Horse Canyon in Helotes has become my new favorite neighborhood in the San Antonio area. It is a master planned community located 1.5 miles north of Loop 1604 off Bandera Hwy and contains more than 600 acres of beautiful hill country property. Breathtaking views of the San Antonio skyline and the surrounding Hill Country can be seen from the development. Government Canyon Natural Area is nearby.~ Iron Horse Canyon residents live in the city of Helotes in Bexar County but do not pay San Antonio city taxes. Helotes has a small town atmosphere and many parts of Iron Horse Canyon have a living-in-the-country feel. ~ Iron Horse Canyon offers easy accessibility to Loop 1604 and IH-10, USAA, UTSA, UT Health Science Center, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, SeaWorld and the South Texas Medical Center. The new Bandera Point Shopping Center located at Loop 1604 and Bandera Rd offers new stores for shopping: HEB, Super Target, Old Navy, Chili's, Lowe's, Home Depot and many more. There is a Junior Olympic community swimming pool and pool house. ~ Children in Iron Horse Canyon attend the excellent schools of Northside ISD. ~Helotes Trivia: Helotes was settled in 1856 and in Spanish "Helotes" means "green roasting ear of corn."

Shirley, Helotes Iron Horse Canyon looks lovely but I'm partial to the hill country. We are flat, flat, flat!!
Shirley
We are somewhere in between Marchel's flat and your hills....guess we are mole hills. Anyway I really love small communites like Helotes. Convenient but rural.
