The acidic properties of plain white vinegar make it a perfect green substitute for household cleaning products containing chemicals. Here are a few ideas for using vinegar for cleaning your home.
Bathroom grout can be whitened by applying vinegar full strength, letting it stand, and then scrubbing with a toothbrush or other small brush dipped in vinegar. Soap scum can be removed using two-thirds vinegar and one-third water. For hard water stains on fixtures, tiles, shower doors and porcelain use full strength undiluted vinegar. Hard water can be problematic in the San Antonio area if you don't have a water softener.
In the kitchen full strength vinegar can cut grease and clean the coffee maker. To disinfect wood cutting boards, use one- third water to two-thirds vinegar. Appliances can be cleaned and shined using a spray bottle of half vinegar and half water. On wood or tile floors use one cup of vinegar with a gallon of water.
Keep a spray bottle of a vinegar and water solution handy for quick use in the kitchen, bathroom, and other areas.

I consider myself blessed because I have few allergies. However, cleaning products give me a headache. Thanks for reminding me of the alternatives!!!
Very interesting! We keep a bottle of bleach for the tiles in the shower. Nice idea..
Greg. bleach is great... I use it a lot around the house.
Can u believe some sushi restaurants have been accused of "cleaning" their product with bleach to preserve the shelf life?!
yuck... yet another good reason why I don't want to eat sushi!
